Auto Repair & Service

Big tickets deserve a rate that was actually negotiated.

Repair shops, tire stores, transmission and detail shops. A $2,400 ticket at the wrong rate costs you more than a whole day of labor.

    What we actually fix

The four problems we hear from auto repair & service every week.

    Large-ticket downgrades

Keyed-in and phone payments on big repair orders drop to the most expensive interchange tier. Correct setup and Level II data pull that back.

    Deposits on parts

Take a card deposit when the part is ordered, then charge the balance at pickup — without storing card numbers on a sticky note.

    Customers paying over the phone

A proper virtual terminal with AVS and CVV so remote payments do not turn into chargebacks you cannot win.

    Cash flow on parts invoices

Next-day funding so the parts bill and the deposit are not a week apart.

    Recommended setup

PAX or Dejavoo terminal plus virtual terminal

Free PAX A920 handheld for the bays and a browser-based virtual terminal for phone payments, invoicing and stored deposits. Optional integration with your shop management software.

“Most of our tickets are over a thousand dollars and half of them get paid over the phone. Fixing how those were run saved us more than the rate change did.”

    Common questions

Interchange is the non-negotiable fee the card-issuing bank charges on every transaction — roughly 1.5% to 2.2% plus a per-item fee depending on the card and how it is run. Nobody can discount interchange. What an agent controls is the markup on top of it. We quote interchange-plus so you can see the markup as its own line instead of one blended number that hides it.
